Hi everyone. It has been a while since my last post here. The thing is.. I'm on my last trimester of pregnancy and it has been a little bit too tough to do thing or move around, so I take my holiday break to regain some energy before baby due date. I hope I can re-open my etsy shop (thisisjoon.etsy.com) soon. I miss my work already.
Have a nice weekend everyone

Online magazine I like // Babiekins issue 10
Hello Monday!
It feels great to get back on blogging again because I have more spare time, woo-hoo! My babybear's nursery is nearly done. I'm working on decorating the ikea curtain that will cover my office shelves. (#ikeahack) more pictures to show soon.
And while working on that project - getting more inspiration on Pinterest is a must on the list of my daily routine. Today I found a link of pin for a kid's room (via Helena c, Thanks). It's for Babiekinsmag and I check it out and I love it. There are kid's fashion, room's decor and much more. It's a lovely online magazine that filled with inspiration for your little one. I like that fox cushion (image above) xx

BabyBear Nursery
BabyBear Nursery |
The room is painted in all white, an attempted to make it looks as big as possible, (It's a very small room unfortunately, half nursery / half my mini-office). Also we don't know it's a boy or girl? so I try to keep it neutral as possible and add accent colours into it when baby is born. Right now I think white-grey-orange are good for any gender. And also few curtains need to add to cover shelves and the nooks next to chimney to hind my office from sight. I will have more picture to show when I have done it.
Thanks for pop in xx

Pom Pom project // twig branch
Pom Pom twig branch by Thisisjoon |
I've been dread to make one of my own for a long time. Here my own verion of Pom Pom twig branch!!
This project is super easy. All you need are ::
- Pom Pom > few of them in the colour you like, I recommend stick with only 2-3 colours, unless you like rainbow style // You can get them from my shop Thisisjoon
- Dry Twig > free! if you pick them from your garden, a park or while you out for a walk.
- Vase > I got mine from a charity shop, 50p bargain! and any vase or old jam jar will do.
- Hot glue gun or super glue
- *Decoration items (option) You can use only pom pom or add artificial cotton bird like mine.
How to :: arrange your dry twig in a vase / glue pom pom to the twig (stick them in variety angle and leave some gap between them) / add decoration items if you have some. and voila! done.
Have fun!
I am setting up a competition to win a set of mixed-pom pom soon. Check out my facebook page and twitter @joonhiggins for more details xx

Update // My office My stock
Hi, It has been a while since I blog as being a first time mum has a lot of things to prepare and learn and it's start to taking it tolls on me. The tiredness and lacking of energy are making it harder to do or finished anything, including my work on my Etsy shop.
However I try and I "n-e-a-r-l-y" finish sorting out my office and give way to nursery. So that mean I can start to concentrate on my business again.
By the way, as this spare bedroom is going to be A NURSERY / MY OFFICE so I planned to hide all my files and tools in columns in the the chimney (which you can't see here in the photo - its opposite the window) and make it looks more like a nursery.
Will have more photo and progress of working to show here soon...
Have a nice weekend everyone xx

Snack // Apple Nachos
Via pinterest and manifrestvegan.com / Apple Nachos |
- 3 crispy and slightly tart apples
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp creamy natural peanut butter
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup pecans
- 1/4 cup flaked unsweetened coconut
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
Sliced up some apples thin enough so it would be easy to eat the slice in one or two bites. Lightly spritzed the apples with lemon juice to keep them from browning too fast.
Then melted some peanut butter–until it was super runny–and drizzled it all over the apples. Next, topped the apples and peanut butter with unsweetened flaked coconut, sliced almonds, a few pecans and chocolate chips. Finally, drizzled a little more peanut butter onto the plate.

D.I.Y Paper Bowls
Start off The Dragon year of 2012 with a lovely DIY Paper Bowls Project! This picture is so stand out that I've to click and find out the details. I plan to make few to use on my dining table ♥
Materials: Paper, Wallpaper paste, Round plastic bowl
(via Scandinaviandeko on Pinterest) |
To do this:
1. Prepare the wallpaper paste.
2. Turn the plastic bowl upside down. Apply the paste and paper alternately. Place the paper tightly on the bowl. A few layers of paper is enough. Leave the edge uneven.
3. The paperbowl dries and comes off of the plastic bowl by itself.
4. Use the bowls for dry food only. If the food is warm or greasy, add a piece of baking paper inside the bowl.
Hope you enjoy this project,
Joon ♥
